This is the 1st Annual Book Bag Drive that occurred from 12-4pm in Downtown Hagerstown, Maryland. I collaborated with local community member’s to help make this event great! The event had music, food, local business vendors, local non-profits, and a Book Bag giveaway sponsoring 100 children this year with school bags and supplies.

This is the second protest I organized with the help of other local community members. We met near the local record store and marched with the goal of justice and equality to be served within the black community, in response to the continuous chain of mistreatment the black community as been given.

This is a week long camp I volunteered at for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). It was an amazing time to get the children active, while incorporating the importance of faith in the activities. It was a week of enlightenment, fun, and positivity. I am blessed I had the opportunity to be apart of this experience.

Injustice has always been prevalent in the black community and other minorities. With the recent murder of George Floyd, I wanted to create an outlet where we could share our voices, pain, and let the town know we want justice. With the help of many others, I led the walk portion of the protest, and a group of others led the in-car portion of the protest, to accommodate to those who wanted to participate but were high risk of COVID-19. In the heat with masks on, over 1,000 people marched the city of Hagerstown.

This is a short video summarizing the protest that occurred in Hagerstown, Maryland. The voice behind is my own and my brothers, Darius Hockaday.
